In 2010 CIL Precision appointed Denis as Managing Director of the company. At that juncture the company was experiencing challenging economic issues, similar to many other companies in Ireland. Denis impacted immediately and positively through his commercially focused management style and rounded skill set. During his tenure with CIL Precision he set broad directions and objectives and keenly supported the management in the achievement of same. This led to increases in turnover, profitability, stability and employee morale and generated new business and customers.
Denis is articulate and communicates convincingly and fluidly with a down to earth style. He is very much a people person with a business and engineering background. When we approached the local enterprise office for support with establishing Brodeen Engineering they appointed Denis as our mentor. We first came across Denis when he was Managing Director of CIL Precision. We approached him as we needed help in developing our prototype vending machine. He spotted the potential in the product and his team in CIL Precision did an excellent job in producing a working prototype. I developed a product that is the solution to a problem common on many farms. I approached the Local Enterprise Office to try to find a path to market and they appointed Denis as my mentor. Our work with Denis was initiated by Carlow Local Enterprise Office to assess and appraise our new manufacturing venture.
